The Upper Room Baptist Church was providentially brought into existence by God as a child of necessity. The founding members of the church were made up of seventeen families who were brought together by their quest for spiritual oasis in the church where they were worshipping – Shepherd-hill
In a bid to satisfy their spiritual thirst, the group met together regularly to study the Bible and pray.
Having been bounded together by the immutable word of God, the group became very cohesive and desirous to make impact for the kingdom of God. The group was subsequently christened Monday Fellowship.
In pursuance of God’s guidance, some time was set apart for prayers and fasting by all members of the group. At a fellowship meeting on October 13, 1987 the Monday Fellowship metamorphosed into the Upper Room Baptist Church.
