Becoming a Woman of Freedom

Hebrews 12:1-2: [Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God]

Today, in the world, a lot of things come into play and into our lives that can create fear, discouragement, and weakness. A lot of things. Every family has something they are battling with. In some families it is health, in others, it’s the issue of finance, in some others it is the fruit of the womb. And in all these cases, every family has something to battle with, every family has something that is subject to concern. Every family thinks ‘how I wish God will answer me speedily, that God will just settle this matter’. Every family has one challenge or the other. This is common. The challenges of life are all common. The issues of life are common. Sickness, lack, marriage problems, dysfunctionalities in families, spiritual issues, all sorts.

A lot of people is depressed because they have taken it upon themselves to carry the weight instead of releasing to God.

But your case is not peculiar.

The devil lies that it is better with the other family. The issues that bring fear into your life is common. The challenges are common. There is nothing new under heaven, nothing is new.

It is a common thing, so don’t give up.

Because of these challenges, a lot of people have carried these burdens that press them down, and they are not free. They are shackled, weighed down. They are not free.

And that’s why Christ came. It is for freedom he came for.

And any life that is able to connect with Jesus, truly connect with Jesus, he has promised that he is able to lighten the burden. He said cast those burdens upon me, because I am more than able to give you succor, to take you to the place of green pastures where peace where no man can give, will be your portion.

Let’s go back to Hebrews 12:1-2 [Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.]

Fear ensnares. It places under bondage. ‘Will I ever be free?’ ‘Will it really be over?’ Many people are under the bondage of fear. We are no longer slaves to fear. We are children of God.

Galatians 5:1 [Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.]

Woman of God, if you are connected to Jesus – you are free. You have liberty. Because and understanding of what Christ did for you has caused you to release yourself and every burden on him.

You are free!

Stand fast in this understanding by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Your God is a miracle working God. The God that parts the red sea. The God that picks a nobody and makes her into a somebody. Even death could not hold him captive. Life is your portion. Death has no hold. Take life instead of death in Jesus name.

Declaration: I’ve passed from death to life.

The situation may look like a dead situation, but know this, it is life instead of death. Don’t be afraid of death. Why? Because you have life. Why? Because you are connected to Jesus.

Hebrews 12:1-2 [Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.]

Life is a race.

Once you understand you are free, nothing can cage you, shackle you, hold you bound.

God has given us everything to run this race so we are not afraid. 2 Peter 1:2-3 [ Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,]

The most important thing is being connected to Jesus. If you are in Jesus – every provision to live above worries and fears is already provided for. As His divine power has given us everything that pertains to life and godlinesss. Through the knowledge of him.

That you did not have money yesterday, does not mean you won’t have money today. Because you did not have a child yesterday does not mean you won’t have children today. Remember Sarah.

Be free from the worry of i-don’t-have. Because you have a God that graduates you from the level of i-don’t-have to more-than-enough.

Be a woman of freedom in the knowledge of Him that has called us. He does not forget his own, woman.

When the woman with the issue of blood encountered Jesus, when she extended faith, there was freedom in her life.

Be free from every form of worry and fear.

What do we need in order to be delivered?

If you don’t tackle this, it will be difficult to run the race.

Hebrews 12:1-2 [Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before uslooking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.]

For you to be free you must learn how to lay aside. How to put behind you. Not to go back to them. Put them off completely. They can only ensnare, put in bondage.

Put away sin. Anything that is called sin should not be mentioned in the life of a child of God. Sin separate, sin puts in bondage – because you know you have trespassed. Sin makes you walk into bondage. Excuses, trading blames, like Adam did, will never allow you to experience freedom. Every form of disobedience is sin. Sin easily ensnares. Sin has power – but that is why Jesus came, to set us free. Sin destroys.

For all of us, we must run away from sin.

Don’t look for shortcuts. Looking for shortcut woman, will put you in bondage. We must learn to persevere and one of the ways to do this is to remain in the word of God.

Job 14:4 [If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait, Till my change comes.]

Because of His word, you know that by two immutable things He cannot lie.

Learn to embrace the truth of God. The truth shall set you free. By His strength you are made whole. He said He will never leave you or forsake you. None shall be barren. Shall I labor and not deliver? Hold on to His word, that truth!

You want to free? You want to continually enjoy freedom? Then you must always look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.

Today, many things are calling for your attention. Everything is telling you, it has happened to that sister, it will fail. But remember the truth: they looked unto Jesus, their faces were radiant and they were not put to shame.

What is that matter in your family and in your life, look unto Jesus. For when God steps in, He will break every protocol.

And for your case, God will break protocols.

If He did it before, He will do it again.

There was once a man carrying a heavy load, bending under the weight, walking on a lonely road. A truck driver drives by and asks if he can give the man a ride. The man says yes. The man enters the truck and sits. Then the driver continues on the journey. At some point, the driver looks at the man and notices that the load is still on the man’s head and in shock he asks the man why he is still carrying it. The man says he did not want to bother the driver any further because he was already receiving help from him.

Church, what will it cost the man to drop the load and enjoy the ride? That is the picture of a life that is still holding on to his baggage. Even when we give our lives to Christ, we still carry our load and burdens.

We need to get to a level where we drop everything at His feet.

Hebrews 12:1-2 [Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.]

Woman, learn to be free.
